For twenty minutes, four students in a classroom acted as a door, table, white board, and a pencil. Each person could still speak and move, but they were restricted by the boundaries of their assigned object-role. By not acknowledging the change in the social environment of the class, it created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Through this discomfort, a performative space was created for an interaction between the students who acted as objects and students that did not. This altered classroom space was an opportunity to challenge people to become something other than their selves.
