Tab navigation
Tab navigation is the most comment navigation these days. It’s a great tool for the app which has less than 7 main functions.
Why? People have the limitation of memory. We can only remember 5-9 functions in an app. The less functions the app has, the less mistakes we will make. So the navigation will never has more than 5 tabs.
Tab navigation with a main function
Sometimes, we will found one or two tabs are the most important function in an app. So we will set a big bottom in the middle of the tab menu.
Navigation Drawers
Navigation drawer, called hand burger menu as well. Some designers don’t like hand burger menu, because it hides a lot information under the tab. But the hand burger tab is very useful when if we need the clients highly focus on the information of the page.
Take Jono as an example. Just like Lyft and Uber, Jono creates a big map for the users to see much cars are around the location they set. So the home page is a map and Jono hide the menu under the navigation drawer on the left hand side.
Icon navigation
In this case, all the tabs are under the same priority and their all individual functions.
